Yeh, in 86. We were presented with a magnum of champagne and return tickets to New York by Richard Branson, don't recall if the tickets got used, but we drank the champers in the tow truck on the way home!

More than likely, Alan always used to race with a couple of cans of Stella in case we broke down. We never did, so he'd drink them on the way back to the crane!
When we raced at Margate, we had to pull up for a while so he could have a pee!

We bought it to do the 86 4 litre worlds in Guernsey. 22 of us in the team, and we went over on the ferry from Portsmouth. The ferry company closed the bar on us coz they were in danger of running out of booze.
Had a great time in Guernsey, the highlight was seeing Howard W being presented with a Marzipan hat at prize giving. He'd said that if we ever beat him in our Phantom he'd eat his hat! So we asked his wife what he hated the most.
The other good bit was seeing Alan wheeled onto the dance floor totally naked, kneeling on the sweet trolley, don't think the mayor approved.

Who remembers the Brighton race when Barry (The Off Licence Owner next to Greenford Service Station) fell off the boat (the Stapley Cat) while trying to get some more beer out of the back of the Granada. The boat trailer ran over his thighs and then Joseppi Marenghi nearly ran over him in the Hang Over. He was llucky not to break anything!!! All the Miss Fitz were a good crowd to be with!!!!!!!!
