Speedboat Renovation

Hi all,
I'm in the process of starting a course for young adults who have been rejected from school to try and bring some disipline into their lives. I have proposed to the local council about renovating powerboats and they are extremely interested.
Could anyone give me approximate costs (excluding labour) to renovate an 18ft speedboat... any help would be appreciated.

Replies can also be through my web site www.vitalsparkracing.com

Thanks in anticipation,
John Young

Hi John
Sounds like a good idea,
Do you have a boat to start with, if not, i can give you a 17 ft marshan which had a 150 merc on,
The merc was sold but the hull is in my field requires some work on the wood / glass floor and a paint job, the transom / top deck are sound.
£50 would take it away for something like this, Davy Anderson would sort you out with a trade in engine if you explained what it was for i would think.
I take it the idea is to have the guys have a project seeing it through to getting to use it?
I work in a large engineering shop, so if you need parts machined or painted
i can help, the only payment the lads would ever take is sweets and cola.
I am only about an hour away from you

Regards Garry ( Fife)

Brilliant Garry,

It's only at the planning stage and the council wants me to put together some costings for a meeting next week. I've already submitted brief proposals and they were more than interested.
Your boat sounds like an excellent first project!!
By the way, could I lift the powerhead off my boat at your workshop?...
