Splashed rib
On eBay 330966931657
Looks like Chris Parsonage Racing has splashed the phantom 21 to build ribs
Add states phantom hull and looking at it the late hull I have the rights to
Have asked if he bought the moulds from Hydromax , the answer was no .when asked where did you get the mould for the hull I was told from his moulds.
All I can take from this , is he has just splashed the late phantom 21 hull .

Not necesscarily, the original moulds were bought from Steve Baker by Trio Mouldings, on behalf of Crompton Ribs, who were obviously intending to build ribs from them.
It may be that rib moulds were produced, and that's what's being made now, or I just could be talking crap!
Who do you believe you bought the rights to build the 21 from????

I think hi point being was this done before you and veezey got the moulds? Ie he may have had permission from a previous owner or the previous owner may have made a mould?

Nowhere does it say it was built directly by CPR, the way I read it some guy who works for him has put it togther.
Simular situation to when a sequal was built down this way after it all went sour with Gav.

Long time
Also seems a long time the moulds must have been sold from trio a good 8 to 10 years ago

Yes, I expect the ski boat moulds were, but how about rib moulds. Since Trio ceased trading a while ago, stuff is slowly coming up for sale. There's a 21 for sale on here at the moment, which Trio built probably 8 years ago, but has only just come to light. So is it not possible that whilst they were the owners of the moulds, and had full manufacturing rights, that they might have produced a rib mould from them, which is what they were originally bought for.
And isn't Hydromax or someone doing similar??

When phantom UK had the 16 mould they made a rib mould which is up for grabs. And that was made by the right owners so the same thing may have happened.
But to be honest I would imagine all phantoms have had a rib made from them. A friend of mine had a tohatsu rib and it's an 18 hull and it was nothing to do with any right owners that I'm aware of.

Fair point
Yes you both have a fair point
But would you buy moulds on your behalf then wait best part of 20 years before producing a boat ?
Sorry but I find that highly unlikely , but that's just my point of view
And yes there's properly a lot more ribs out there with phantom hulls under them.
If you want to splash just look for a company that has stopped trading copy there boats then claim you had the rights with no comeback.

The company that owned the moulds were Crompton, who as you're probably aware have had a few problems recently, and aren't in a position to build boats at the moment. My guess is that now Trio's are no longer with us, the moulds, (if there were any) have been sold.
As for the time scale, what have you done with them since you bought them 4 years ago????
Time does seem to pass rather quickly.

For the record it is NOT a 21 hull. Someone has just explained all. It's 21 overall length. I think an apology may be needed Russ.
