My favourite place to go boating is Weymouth. The puplic slip is excellent and only costs £10 or you they have a park and launch (they launch and recover for you) at Blue Water Horizons in Portland Harbour which is a bargain at £20.

Swanage is £25.00 per day including car park ... or £10 launch only

from boat launch.....

Slipway information:

Phone Number: 01929 423636

Ramp Description: Very large steep ramp with some potholes.
Directions: Head towards the lifeboat station at the southern end of Swanage and out towards Peveril Point. Slipway is just before you get to the lifeboat station.
Ramp Type: Large concrete slipway.
Upper Area: Harbour
Lower Area: Harbour
Suitability: Large trailer needs a car
Ramp Length: All of tidal range
Facilities: Pontoons on either side of the slip for loading and unloading. All the usual facilities in nearby Swanage.
Pontoon sides demand a lot of fenders esp at low tide.

Flushing tap. Very narrow lanes in yard and entrance / exit can be tight (was with 4x4 & 7m boat/trailer).

Mooring on bouys available from Dive Centre on the Pier for c. £10 p.d.
Charges: £25 to launch and park. £10 to launch only.

Aug 2006 : Launch only £10. Extra £5 to leave trailer in boatpark. You have to leave car in adjoining public carpark (limited spaces in high season peak hours) and it is £6 for all day (peak season)
Cruising Area: Swanage Bay.

We used to get there before the toll opened

If you dont have any luck finding a slip near where you camp. We always found Beacon Hill Touring Park a pretty cool place to camp, its just outside Poole but only a 10 to 15 min. drive to Baiter. You might also wanna try Rockley Park in Poole, you can camp and launch the boat there. Usually have to book a bit in advance at rockley though!!
