The distruction of Cutty Sark
Even if not really regarding the world of motorboating I believe that the serious damage suffered by the glorious clipper Cutty Sark saddens all the impassioned of sea of the world.
Why it happened?!

Very sad, and they think it was deliberate too.
Luckely it is undergoing a £25M refit and the masts and deck gear is at Chatham. The hull is wood cladding on an iron frame. The Cutty Shark society recon they can reclad the metal framework and refit all the origional deck gear. It won't be the origional boat but as a national monument near enough I suppose.
50 years its been there and last night some thick oyks decided to bring it to an end - they must be very proud of themselves.

Wierd how they were short of money, then, just after all the 'bits' of distinction , masts etc were removed, it burns up.......

I have to confess, I had the exact same thoughts!
They were £6 million short.
If it were the case, I bet there's some nervous people about at th moment! As we can't be the only people to think it. (nick-nick)
