Turbine Scarab Updated

Just a few shots of the engine and box going in to manufacture engine mounts.
Once all the hardware is made the whole boat and engine will be painted.

The splitter box has a series of gears in it each gear was custom made by brown gears, the teeth width on each gear is around 50mm all bearing are pressure fed,dry sumped, oil injection on each gear.
Free power turbine is govened by a mechanical governor and an electronic device which measures shaft speed this cuts the fuel in case of a shaft or gear failure,
The splitter box also has a disk brake fitted to stop over speed in the marina allowing me to run the engine and use the afterburner as well as docking.
Drives are arneson ASD8 10"drop boxes giving me a prop speed of 4500 rpm 17X28 four blade rollas,I will let you do the maths to work out is potential speed.Feckn quick!

The mechanical governor does just control fuel and limits its flow to the burner, the electronic device measures rpm at the free power turbine and has various relay outputs which can be set at different rpm’s .One output shuts a solenoid on the fuel system to closes the engine down on output shaft failure the other output I am going to use to operate the disk brake when the output shaft reaches a certain level possibly when the boat leave the water.
