Perhaps.

Or..

Perhaps, having spoken to you a couple of times in the early days about it, whilst the first to admit you were lacking the knowledge to plan, or do the job yourself, it was obvious to me that if I took it on, the biggest job would be getting you to actually take the advise you were asking for, especially when speccing the fitout..

I didn't want my bad name associated with a boat that came out badly, through actions / decisions not taken by me.

That project will swallow cash like you can't imagine if you do it properly, and doing it properly is the only way I would have wanted to be involved.

I'm sorry, I guess I should have said that to you at the time.

I couldn't afford to do a job like that for charity (labour wise), even if I wanted to, which I don't.

Then Jon a Simple "Sorry Martin cant help you" would have been more polite than nothing at all......

Going off topic thread getting it back on track UKOBA

Think it’s a differing track for the club, now the split with Honda ( I understand), I see a flag officer face or two missing FWIW. So in many respects it needs to reinvent itself.

Having just not long finished a project, frustration is a funny thing and it can’t help but show itself once in a while. I should know my fuse is shorter than most. With a modern classic in the running D2S in the summer of 2009 my mind is starting to wander to a Heritage for the hat trick COPCO set. No only kidding.

It you want any team info then post on the project thread & within reason Martin, Doug or I will give a honest answer if we can subject to confidentiality.

Going back to Commodes have you noticed most don’t have a paper holder only a shelf........... ooops gotta dash Mr turtle.... back in 5 no make that 10

Lets put this in perspective, the Cinzano / 558 project cost close to £200 K.

That was using a mec, and serious guys that knew what they were doing.

Racing big boats is not cheap.

I have the utmost respect of anyone re rigging a boat. It swallows cash but more than that its all the endless hours spent driving down the M3 and M27 to cobbs.

Yeh! I keep my boat much closer to home now so I can pop over for an hour or 2 in the evening to work on it. Was particularly ffrrrreeeezzzzing last night though. I used to get right wound up when I'd driven to Drivers to find I'd forgotten an important tool so couldn't get the job done.
