bytheway the pic of North Sea looks perfect for some wavecrushing....now who would like to build me a Deep Vee ?

Here´s my home waters at the conditions I prefer...but not my family.
As you can see the waves are "choppy" and boatcrushing.

The Baltic SEA?

I would suggest you are very young or just very naive. Where we boat, NC and Va. the area has some of the most trecherous waters in the world. Va. alone has over 500 shipwrecks in the bay and of the coast and North Carolina?

"The waters off the North Carolina's Outer Banks are so hazardous that they have earned the name "Graveyard of the Atlantic," in reference to all the ships that have found a permanent home on the sandy bottom."

Quite right, little is new, or original. and interestingly, the Cougar US1-46, of early 80's fame ('Maggies Mercruiser Special') had both those features (pad keel, notch transom) obviously very 'in vogue'.

And the first find is from 6th millenium BC, found in Finland.

Well look at the Resemblance of a 415 CC Stinger vs. A Baja 420 ES.

Smuggler boats had a 24 raceboat with a pad from the early 70´s
Also some Finnish hulls have had them at the same time.

Stepped houlls have been around since the 1920´s as my firend has a wooden raceboat with surface drive and stepped bottom.
Shoulkd get a pic of it and post it somewhere...the boat looks more than weird...

I have asked on the american forums about splashes and have had little info but some good hints.

The Baltic has more wrecks due to populace over time not because it's more trecherous. The wrecks off the coast are almost all in the last two centuries, not from the 6th millenium bc. which at the time were basically "canoes".

Ocean- (a) : the whole body of salt water that covers nearly three fourths of the surface of the globe (b) : any of the large bodies of water (as the Atlantic Ocean) into which the great ocean is divided.

Sea- a body of salt water of second rank more or less landlocked.

Comparing the Baltic Sea to the Atlantic Ocean is a joke.

I agree. But for some reason Mikey believes the sea is more hostile than an ocean. A basic oceanography course would help the lad.
