looking at a boat at the weekend guy said he bought it new in the states and had in shipped over does the boat need a eu stamp or something

i have no brakes on my trailer either but have a mot
don`t want to buy something then have trouble selling it on later because i didn`t check first

or do people not worry about it when its second hand and been here a few years

Just a thought, How is the CE stuff affecting your thoughts, yes it's a question but for the right price would it have any bearing on the outcome?
IMHO I'd use it to beat it down a bit but then expect the same if I sold it on.
TD would know as a CE boat builder, try a PM might get an answer while he's away.About all I know are race boats are exempt & home builds cant be sold for 3 or is it 7 years something like that.

Yep needs to be CE certified, as of January this now includes emmisions and noise, though how this works I don't know, but have heard its added to cost imported two boats myself over the last few years. CE Proof in Southampton will do it, for a price.

Only on boats imported into the EU since 1997 those before are exempt. Remember alot of people repower their imports to diesel, an new engines comply to the new standard so should,t be an issue.
