Warlord Rebirth
The nasty grey durabuild removed, exposes the old girls natural skin.
With a bit of new structures here & there, and the deck selotaped back on, it may be getting wet again.
Back to it's old length to accept the deck (30'7")

Would run with single big block, as before(though probably less power). most likely in 'D' class.

Sounds good, but why less power is this due to the age of her or another reason?
forgot to ask is this a restoration project or refurbishment project?

Less is more.
To fit 'D' class, it needs to be <8.5 litre, and not have headers (and be fundimentally a standard production unit), so 500hp is about the sensible limit.
Won't be the fastest boat on the block, but top speed aint everything.
Restoration, no, refurb, sort of. Just budget racing really.

I would be only fitting after the amount of effort went into finding it that it did make a return to the good old costal waters.
The difference in the boat between the first & second engine was quite marked, but then class 2 in those days had some pretty heavy Iron & a single had to be on top form to be in the hunt. D class would suit very well indeed.

I'm still not convinced there ever was two engines.
Or at least, I'm certain the one that was in it when I got it, is the original.

I always thought it was a different engine due to the marked change in performance, but you might well be right. Was a bloody long time ago. Steve would more than likley know, not seen Alistair or Alan/Paul in years to ask, If not a replacement something went pop & wasn't the same as the previous spec.
but pretty academic really. A great project and very worthy of the time & effort required.

Warlord Improvements
Dear Readers,
Once upon a time there was a man called The Iron Duke.
As all of you know he was a world famous top class designer.
Whilst holidaying one day with Captain Chaos, Ace, Toby Davis and Matt “Nut and Grape” Yorkie, it was put to The Duke that he couldn’t solve the problem of making Warlord look fecking awesome. In fact making Warlord look so powerful that people without 100% control of their bladder would definitely have a little bit of wee come out.
Well of course dear reader, he can.
“We need something striking” said His Almighty Dukeliness “something that looks so powerful people….lose control of bladders etc…(see above)”
So His Dukefulshipworthiness set about the task one night with a set of crayons, some greaseproof paper, a ruler, 2 cotton buds and many many pots of Tea. Toby Davis creates one hell of a cup of tea.
The next morning Chaos, Ace, Toby and Matt awoke to see something that had been created that quite frankly this humble narrator can only say would be what God would have created on an Eighth day of the week had he created an eighth day of the week because after not feeling tired having made creation and all the puny animals he had solved the problem of throttle response on the Sunday and realised he needed an eighth day to spruce Warlord up.
“I have solved it” said His Unholy Dukelordliworthiness. “This is what needs to be done”
The boat shall be painted Pink.
On the drivers side it shall be called Whorelord – to reflect Ace’s love of a pre-paid lady. After all he spends many many months at sea. The motif shall be a rippling muscly arm stretched along the length of the boat, clenched into a fist, about to be inserted into err….a ladyfrontbottom.
On the throttle mans side it shall be called Gaylord – to reflect Chaos’ love of Freddie Mercury. The motif shall be a rippling muscly arm stretched along the length of the boat, clenched into a fist covered in sweetcorn, about to be inserted into err….a manbackbottom.
Your outfits shall be pink boiler suits, with black furry boots, and helmets shaped like mandownstairshelmets. Upon completion of a victory said helmets should be rubbed together, as you both begin to stand up.
“This will guarantee an incredible amount of TV coverage. And therefore a truly prodigious amount of sponsorship” continued His Annointed Grand Dukeliness. “I myself will sponsor you the princely sum of £20 to have your steering wheel made up of a picture of my face with my schnozzler in the middle to press when you need to bib other boats out of the way. And Whorelord/Gaylord says a lot about the sort of people you are, not like these other boats that enter like “Punting along the River”, “Wet Deck Shoes”, “Wavy Davy Gravy” and “Touch My Poopdeck”. Your boat sounds like it will rip their c*cks off”
Toby Davis (brewing a cheeky pot of tea) agreed. Matt “Biscuit and Biscuit” Yorkie agreed. Ace – who is only after the filthy $$$$ and will scupper his boat for the insurance after the race – agreed. Only Chaos put up a fight, saying there was nowhere to put his flowers. But eventually relented as he is on the brink of being swapped for a ballcock.
They all lived happily ever after
The End.
