what a f$&$in day...

put the boat in the water at 10.30am today the missus and myself for a nice run out...WRONG!!!!!! faulty depth gauge and me being a complete dik even knowing my own area hit this at 45 mph think ive fried my heads trying to get off the bank before the 2ft of water was completly gone and got stuck for 6 hours before the tide returned...Water back and the motor started then ime sitting there waiting for the tell tale piss pipes to start pumping and no water so switch off motor to lift the cowl and the water pipes had melted to the heads so now ime stuck in the shipping channel with a choppy returning tide and no motor..life boat please for a tow back and £30 in the tin and got on dry land at 7pm....what damage apart from a new impeller do you think has been done guys????

Engine must have got very hot to melt water pipes. Plugs out and compression check. Good luck.

another positive note, if it were my misses with me and I did this I'd never hear the end of it, would be easier for me stop the tide going out in the first place than get her to shut up

Actually on close examination, is your missus flicking you the bird whilst she is sitting on the bow!!!!

If thats all you got then you got away pretty likely

yep the bird is out...wish i could type what she called me for 20 mins after we stopped plus as the wife's a yank it just sounded bloody funny and i was laughing which made it worse

Jokes aside. We ran aground at crawling speed compared to what your boat is capable of and already suffered bleeding noses and the driver had a bad cut over the eye so be happy that your missus and yourself are ok

well after getting Steve Hutchy to sort my motor she's back home complete with an alian cowl...this man knows his XR2's thats for sure and has made a great job out of what was a sorry looking motor after the strip down..top geezer he is
