I can only recommend a phantom 16. they are so stable and forgiving, also its the sort of boat you can re power later. my friend has one for sale. i will tell him to post on here.
good luck

Nothing wrong with a Fonda. Put a couple together in the 80's and they were a superb little boat.

I raced OCR with Gary Santo in a Fonda hull in Guernsey 1986.
Well balanced boat, with a good driver.
I remember in those days bow tanks were not allowed, and there was some weight and pully system?

The Fonda, the Concorde and the Simms all suffered with a forward bulkhead- (dashboard), that was too far forward of the longitudinal centre line. I know the designers and builders personally and have had this argument several times.
The desire to increase interior space always compromises the handling. i.e. you either had to trim the boat too far out, or over-engine it to attain an acceptable ride.
There are really well handling boats available both new and second hand. I have just acquired a Phantom 16 for my daughter and my niece to race in 2009 and it will be competitive and affordable.
