What class do Merucry 280 and 300 run in?

I was just curious what class do the Mercury 280efi and 300xs run in over in the european circuits? I notice the 200xs is very popular over there.

In France the 300xs would be in sport 3 Litre, I dont think the 280 efi is allowed in any class.

Yes the 200 HO match the 3 liters as they allow 30% in cubic capacity, but no engine mods are allowed. The lenght of the boat in 3 liters cannot be under 6.00m and the Engine power must be in accordance with the boat builder.

OCRDA is right, as far I know the NON EPA engines are not allowed in the race nautic tour.

In 2011, the thundercats were non EPA & there were a few carbed motors in the Sport 100 class, if I remember correctly. Obviously the 2012 rule book isn't out yet...

Does adding an offshore-style above water exhaust count as a mod? The powerhead and ECU are all standard Evinrude. What kind of boats/motors race in 3 litre?

Not mentioned in current Race Instructions !! I was told in December that whilst they are trying to stop non EPA it is only for the really smokey noisy ones !!
