dallatepia 82knots

Scand, do you know more about the history of Dallapieta boats?

Here another video of the same boat in action, only one person on board.
very flat condition.

Yes the buoyancy seems to be a bit short, even with a lighter motor as Ross suggest, you need to have a 50kg pilot and 50kg copilot to test the boat!

Dalapieta

From what I have been told the Dalapieta and Piraya 16 share the same hull but the deck is different.
Dalapieta is the most popular boat in V-50 here in sweden

here is some history, from Erik Bråten via google translate:

Dalla Pieta -an incredible story about a boat for 40
years still modern!

The first time I saw a Dalla Pieta at the Berlin six -hour in 1968. It was the Italian carnitias team who had bet on this type of boat . The Dalla Pieta model had the type designation Manta and impressed me a lot . The boat was expertly constructed of plywood and the round bottom shape must have challenged the Italian boat builders properly.

3 Things characteristics of construction : 1: Parallel step lists to the direction , 2: tire went over the wings aft and last but not least the special base which provided high speed and soft ride . The Italians ran with big adjustable " outliers " of aluminum attached to the mirror.

Mantaen was made for courses that Paris and Berlin 6 hours and drove home ia Championship in 1967. It had probably easy to get too much lift and therefore had the Italians secured with these utliggerne that would prevent a flip . This experience made myself, but fortunately only a damage to the starboard wing ( Stora Lee Foxenloppet 69) I never used outliers .

During the winter of 68 specific 3 carnitias drivers to buy this Italian boat that was not only fast but also a beauty to behold . The three were Find Lysebråthe , Oslo was responsible for Carnitisalget in Norway , Bengt Fransson , Gothenburg and myself.

Carnitias factory v / Angelo Vassena arranged contracts and was our contact person in Italy. Boats were picked up at the boatyard in Venice and brought home to common boat trailers .

I chose to run for class SD ( 700 cc ) was success and to put achievements in relief , so could I , with my SD follow SE boats from other brands and had several top results. Find and Bengt focused on SE (850 cc ) and the results were not long in here either.

It is clear that this success made tingling in fingers handy amateur boat builders and it was not long before plastic copies appeared. In Norway was the first clear already in 1970 and was " built " by Arild Thorbjørnsen and Per Erik Schiøtt according Boating boating magazine 2/71 . Copying has always been risky for me , but it
stood in the same article that they had developed the model , which I prefer amused by . How to develop something that was perfect? It was probably more than me who did not like this kind of boat building and construction.

My boat was never copied as long as it was in my possession, just as it is said today is the most popular type of boat in Offshore V50 in Norway . The pictures look these appear to be identical with the boat that was taken home 69 So 40 years ago and which must be quite a record .

So a little about the boat builders in Italy , specifically Venice.
Dad Bepi Dalla Pietà began building boats in 1951 and I never heard anyone talking about gondola construction, so I think this is just a myth. But his pronounced sense of detail and quality is well known even today , where it can no longer be built 16 footers on the family
large yard in Malcontenta , but large upscale cabin cruisers up to 60 fot.med a price tag of over 10 million
Both sons Gianni and Georgio has now taken over the operation and I sincerely hope that the financial crisis does not paralyze them boat is long since a memory, but I retained the magnificent paddle is provided. It has been given pride of place on the wall in Bodegaen here in Spain Equally smooth and great in the paint as ever .

Before I stop off I would like to say a few words about Find Lysebråthe and the importance he got for boating in Norway in the late sixties and early 70 's. This has not previously come forward and I think that's sad .
Find 'd like carnitias sales manager for the firm Aage Bjerke A / S at Railway Square in Oslo very good contact with the Northern Italian boat builder environment. He personally took home more advanced structures , which include Levi , Canali , Torrigia , Serrinissimo etc.
This had caused that little Norway suddenly abreast of developments in the most interesting båtmiljøet in Europe and it appeared boat builders who borrowed many of the ideas and supplying the Norwegian boating with advanced boat design , which include Olaf Robert on Hurumlandet with their Hero boats and sons Henry and Svein as test pilots.
It was never a question of casts , it would Dad Robert never have allowed , I miss thoughts . The boats were cast here was thus named the Hero and was popular for many years . Even had the pleasure of owning one that I used in offshore one couple seasons

Find Lysebråthe was the one known boater and I had the pleasure of beating him several times , but then it was time for catamarans in Norway arrived, so it was sure a lot to say.

My cat Schulze , built by Dieter Schulze in Attnang - Puchheim in Austria, was between 70 -71 accessories faster than any other brand . It proved my world record on Tunevann 1971 Class SE and Eropamesterskapet which was won in Krefeld in Germany the same year Much to the chagrin of the Italians who used Carnitimotorer as myself and thus easy to compare . After this I got a lot of friends in Italy. (strangely enough)

Yes, folks, there were times that.

Sincerely , Eric Braaten

lol, ok so peugeot 1 litre with 1" 1/2 waste pipe sprayed silver ! it was jet drive, always in gear and frightening but i also had the outboard version which took a 9.9 hp outboard,i put a 30hp mariner on it and that thing should have been locked up...chine riding, hooking, porpoising, arse steering u name it all at the same time,it almost wheelied if you nailed it from a start, absolute death trap but funny as hell,a young guy and his girlfriend came over to buy it,she sat in the car with that "this is gona go tits up " look on her face as we squeezed into this 9 or 10ft cheese wedge, we have a 4knot speed limit down the river but this as you prob know is only a rough guidline! off we set 2 up and obviously 2 up she'd calm down a bit? no not really, only differance was this time 2 people nearly shat themselves, the nipper loved it and bought it there and then...kinda reminded me of when i bought my first RD 350 lc in the early eighties.

Reading this post I see there is a theme, Fast, offshore etc,

The SCARIEST mother f ing boat ive ever been in was last night!!!!

9ft rowing boat with my brother.
we had just launched a customers rib into Salcombe estuary and had to row his tender back to shore.

The only way I can describe it is a kayak with the top cut off, the water level by the time we were both in (combined weight of 36st) it was an inch (25mm for the young/non engineers) from coming in. the balance was shit your pants scary, my rowing is atrocious at best but every movement was dire.

A duck went past and his wake almost had us lol

It goes to show, you can go 100mph and feel as safe as houses, less than 1mph, shit your pants lol.

will never be rude about little inflatables again lol
