What is the V-24 speed record?
Hi!
Im just curios, maybe its just me, or perhaps UIM did not update their homepage, but it states:
OFFSHORE CLASS V24
Code:
OFFSHORE CLASS V24
3663 Speed M. Lamont GBR 2007 MANNERFELT VOLVO 77,26 MPH 124,330 KMH
But i think i did read 80mph something? Please help me out here, im not after the record, but it would make some kind of sense towards what kinds of speeds we are running with the boat today, either way it just means more work for uss.
Marc is a great guy btw, and he HAD a great boat

Hey guys, why start talking trash about Marc? I asked about the V-24 speed record (yes i know i said i thought he was a good guy), and in fact i dont know anything about the V-24 circus in England, except from the little i have read over the years.
Id have to say that i think Marc was a decent guy, and the solved the issues ive had wtih his V-24 since i bought it, not all of them but the major once, and i have gained alot of tips from him, so imho he is not a Knob.
Its sad that some of you guys have issues with him, but lets keep focus on fast V-24 boats insted of just one guy.
This is what Marc said about the record:
Quote:
Marc Lamont: The UIM world record is as stated in the UIM record books. This was set at conniston. The BRITISH natoinal record is also held by me, at 80.2mph, but this was set in the sea, at poole, between Boscombe and Bournemouth Piers, which is 1.4 m...miles distance, and thus, because it is not a 1 KILOMETER measure, it can not be a world record. It is LONGER, and harder to maintain the speed for that length, and it was properly at sea, but the British record is 80.2 and the world record is 77.26.....

BAT 23 Why ask the question when you have Marcs Quote.
Spend some time researching all threads about Bat boats and you will get your answers.

Because at that time i did not have that quote, i got that sent in pm later on by another forum user that talked to Marc through facebook.
I have read some here at boatmad, but 50% of the talk is like in riddles. It doesnt make sense to me, eitherway i dont care. I was curious about the speed record.
Boat left England, so i guess you all are happy either way
