What to do with Lite Relief??

Ok, I can't decide what the hell to do with her, looks wise.

One part of me wants to polish her as best I can, but I really don't like the red stripe down the side, and it's had a slightly wonky repair done on one side so looks odd. There's also a fair amount of stress cracking. I'm gonna solve the issues as best i can, but the cracks will always show.

Another side of me wants to rub her right down and re-gel in white, but I'm not sure I can be arsed with all the dust.

Another side wants to sort all her cracks etc, then paint in 2k, the question is, what colour?? I quite like the idea of black, perhaps called 'midnight express'? Other than that, I like white, red, yellow and purple, though not all at the same time!! She's gonna be in a marina so I'd epoxy/antifoul the bottom to stop bubbling.

Any ideas at all welcomed regarding what I should do, colours, methods, or anything at all really!

Don't tempt me!! When I saw the issue with the stringers and started adding up all the costs involved I felt like I should've just started with a new hull!

Hey ho, past experience has shown me that a refurb on an old boat is not really cost effective, far cheaper to build new.

I think there's a few people on here that have discovered that in the last year or so!

Go all white, and get my brother to do you a kick ass graphic job on it!! That way it can always be updated in the future and you won't be stuck with a boat that looks gay 10 years down the road...

Re-geling would be an absolutely massive undertaking, if I were you I'd deal with the stringer issues that have caused the cracking, and just paint the boat in a decent paint. My old man will probably be up for giving you some advice if we can come up to your vinery for a look, but I know he's flat out on his new house at the moment

it will look fantastic but it will show up every little rub mark and scratch and if its stay'n on a berth the fenders will trash the paint work.

Yeah, and worryingly I'm one of them!! Anyhoo, I'm stuck with what I've got now, at least this way I can do it bit by bit. Unless you've got a nice light extreme hull going mega cheap???

I did actually speak to them about wrapping it or something, but Dave seemed to think it wouldn't hold up to the abuse on the sides, otherwise would be a great option! Cost is an issue too, I'd imagine it'd be about 1k for that, whereas it'd be about 100 quid for me to spray it!
If you could blag your old man coming to have a look and give a couple of tips that'd be amazing, he's got quite a rep for being one of the best over here!

I must admit, thats the downside I was thinking of about black too

He knows his stuff that's for sure! He's a grumpy old bastard and set in his ways, but although I'm obviously biased I don't think you'll find anyone with more knowhow and experience with the itchy stuff...

I wasn't talking about wrapping the whole boat, you'd be looking at a lot more that £1k, they did the purple leapfrog bus and that was over a grand for vinyl then a weeks labour for neil and stan on top! There's a lot of cool stuff they could do on a plain White base though, look at Temporarily Insane... That's nothing more than 2 words on a White boat but it looks absolutely stunning. I'll speak to my old man when I see him, but you won't get priority over Lazy C haha

What about all red sides, with red and black interior? I photoshopped all white and didn't think it looked right...

Temporarily Insane really is an amazing boat, perfect in every way to me! Irony is I could probably own it by now if I hadn't wasted so much money doing this kinda thing by now! I need to think up a good name too yet, that'll be the challenge.
I'm not sure I want to go with much in the way of graphics, I like to keep it quite plain with a bit of colour...

Larby waste your money on the engine and sort it so shes relliable and fast, it dosent look too bad as it is, the stress cracks will only come back if you drive it like you should

Black attracts the of the sun, white reflects it. Black deck of black trim gets red hot in the sun and white stays much cooler. Black gives the effect that the boat looks smaller, lighter colours make a boat look larger.

I don't mind having black in the interior, my mate's phantom is all black inside and we just leave a towel over the seat on a hot day.
Good point on the colours changing the look of the length, I'd never really thought of that!

Don't see many silver boats over here! That Phantom that has just been re gelled looks amazingly slick!

Personally though, i think the photo you put up of her now the stickers are off looks really good...

I bought the Buildbase boat from Mark. Managed to get a late V6 Mercedes Diesel engine, 225hp at the moment but can be chipped to 270hp. Its the lightest 3 litre diesel engine of its class as its all aluminium with cast iron liners, weighs in at 210kg. Connecting it up to Bravo drive with IMCO 2 inch shorty bottom which is about 100kg. By the time I have added the raw water heat exchangers and the charge cooler should be around 330Kg about 60Kg heavier than the Honda outboard at 270kg.

As the weight will be further forward I wont need to carry water in the bow tank and will also not need to carry so much fuel, so the all up weight should be about the same as Honda outfit. With all the weight lower down should also help to stop the tendency of it to roll over as it seems to be a common thing with the 225 Honda set up.
