whats this 200 worth ?

Hi Guys,
What would you learned chaps think a merc 2.5 200 early 90s is worth ?
the chap selling says its only done about 40 hours ! hes asking £3k for it

Like to see how he could prove the hours
I've got an early 90's Johnson gt 150 here for around £1000
I know the merc name carries a bit more of a premium but I would say 3k too much

I think your spot on with your valuation of around £1,500. Its a bit too old and thirsty to be valued at 3k. That's get you an early Opti or EFI,

agreed, my 225hp blackmax once rebuilt will be £2000 but that's rebuilt with new bearings, gaskets, ring etc and has an offshore saddle.

225 black max

I could be interested in the 225 what year is it ? no rush as still rebuilding the boat at present, original motor was a 1350 straight six merc but these are difficult to find as you know and I don't think I could put up with the reliability issues . there was a guy used to be on here called tim-b-c I think he has one but that was £900 apparently been stored for 30 years !
