Wrap around screen/partial canopy
Hi all,
Is there anywhere in the UK that can sort wrap around screens or very partial canopies? Trying to work out what route I'm going to take with the B28 and would like to go for a 'vector' look if it's not going to prove too expensive. I'm planning on getting it up to the 100mph mark so a little protection would be good, even if just from the wind!
Cheers, James

Yeah, nice one too. I'm going to 4 seat though and don't want a full canopy, that's for sure! Plus that's a touch out of my price range now!

Hi James,
Don't know if it is of interest but Ocke does a drop in four seat moulding.

Would it hell, that's be amazing!! I can't stand the look of the Ocke leisure screen arrangement but that's easily sorted, it's the cockpit that's a pain to sort so that'd be an ideal solution if it's not too stupidly priced!
How do I go about contacting him?
Cheers, James

Not sure if ours would fit or be too overpriced, but ours might be the right size?

Hi John,
I'll be honest, I'm not looking to spend a fortune but interested to know what you have to offer!
I'd imagine it'd be too big, i don't have a huge amount of room to play with, particularly in terms of length. if you could PM/email me some details and a price that'd be fantastic! Good to know what my options are!

I'm going to photoshop a Stirling 34 screen onto a B28 later, then you'll have to do it

That'd be awesome! In black please!! I'll bet if you did it full size it'd swamp it though!

The boat only has a 7'4" beam and it isn't full width - you don't have to use the full length, I bet you could trim it to size?

Yeah trimming wouldn't be too much of an issue, anything is better than starting from scratch! It'd just be interesting to look at all the options, I like the shape of your stirling screen.
It's the dash etc that'd be the main issue for me, I'm not sure I've got it in me to start making plugs, moulds etc!
If you could email whatever info you can that'd be great Cookee, cheers
James

Hi Cookee
Could you give me the dimensions of your canopy?
Length from the bottom of the windscreen to the air intakes, width and height.
And approximate price including polycarb/acrylic.
Thanks
Jason

Hey James what power you thinking of putting on/in to achieve 100mph with the 4 seat set up? With the extra weight youre gonna need quite a lot me thinks!

Hiya Moose,
I'm going to be re-rigging with my supercharged V8. Hoping to keep additional weight to a minimum with foam cored floor etc and Kevlar seats, I'm not going for a full on luxury spec!
It'll be a long term project to make it to 3 figures, but I'm determined to do it, and I'm happy this could be the boat for the job!
I plan to keep to about 600hp for normal running but have the motor built to take more so it's only a pulley and prop change away from extra speed for those lovely flat crossings to Jersey!
The more I think about it, the more I think I may be better going for a simple dash/screen moulding to save weight rather than risking going top heavy with screen etc. Nothing set in stone yet, just want to explore the options so I can make an educated decision!
Do you know what the dry weight of the hull is by any chance? She seems incredibly strongly built, yet seems wood free and I even noticed carbon/Kevlar in places so I'm guessing quite light for her strength?
Cheers, James
