First boat

Mine was a Tiger Shark 21, with 200 Evinrude. Was a great boat in Rough water. Anybody knows who made Tiger Shark. I know was made in England. Six units comes to Spain in 1980.

14ft red shakespere with a 1979 Stinger 75hp, that wee boat flew but it was a damn wet ride even on a smooth water.

My Dads First Boat.....

My Dads first boat was a 9ft Apollo in Yelllow, covered in stickers, with a johson 25. ( AP) for short. He can remember walking into the garage after school and seeing it tied dwon to a car battery as the outboard was so heavy!
He has had it since about 1972 and can still be seen darting around the solent to this day! (although now the engine is a mariner 20

In the early 1980's he decided to cross the channel in it.
It took 5 hours due to the fact that for backup they crossed with a sailing boat and had to cirlce it, as there was little wind the sailing boat had to go the whole way over on its engine, hense the large crossing time.

all in all quite an achievment for such a small boat!

Cool! That Apollo needs a few more stickers!
Long before I got my Apollo (which was actually a CB-9, not an apollo, which looked identical, but took a 15" shaft rather than the 20" of the Apollo) there was a guy who lived on the other side of the river from us (on Hamm Court) who had a sky Blue Apollo with a 18 Evinrude, that wee beast was my inspiration.

Back then (probably early / mid 70's) there was a guy who ran a garage in Shepperton by the train station called Tim Howard (Howards Garage) who had what I thought was a massive powerboat that he kept in his workshop. I pestered him for hours whenever I could to drewl over it. A few years later and with a different perspective, I realised it was a Avenger 16. Not quite the monster it seemed as a kid.

Ho hum, happy days.

surely, in the mid 70's you was nearly 30. Very nice of the bloke in the garage to let you come and look of his boat mind.
