New logo new beginning.

So today, during the Cowes to Monte-Carlo race briefing we un-veilled the new logo and the future of International Offshore Marathon/Endurance racing for the next 10 years.

There is to be a series of offshore long distance races every two years - it takes two years to stitch them together. The series is going to be called "The Venture Cup"

1st. Cowes to Monte-Carlo.
2nd. Venice to Monte-Carlo
3rd. New York to Miami
4th. Cowes to St Petersburgh
5th. Abu Dhabi to Mumbai

The series was well received by well over 120 people at the briefing with teams flying in from 6,000 miles and from 7 different countries.

Did I misunderstand? I thought they were possible venues for future races?

Great presentation and if anyone can reach those amazing targets I'm sure it is Aidan!

Still waiting for the slides from Aiden. he said he would sort it and mail them to me on saturday night from your house.....but didn't. I need these to integrate into the video.

Video is all captured, and stitched together, just waiting the data from Aiden.

The bright backlighting didn't do the video any favours (faces a bit dark) but audio is clear, and the slide data will be clear, I think those two parts are the most important. besides, the presenters were an ugly lot.

Hi Jon - one of the uglier (but younger ...just) presenters responding. Took until today to get that presentation down from 800+mb into something more manageable (the laptop I had with me just laughed when I tried to run some compressions, so had to wait to get back to the mothership). Can you PM me your email address and I'll get it across to you right away?

update: you have mail

Feck it ....I spend so much time lurking on here, and so little posting, I might as well go mad now that I've started...

Now that the cat called 'Venture' is well and truly out of the bag, can I ask nicely if folks could briefly skip across to facebook and 'like' the new and shiny Venture Cup facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/VentureOffshoreCup
...before returning immediately to the soft and familiar boating armchair of boatmad

Aiden. I assume it's the pdf?

looks very compressed, and only totals 14mb.

using dropbox (or 'wetransfer' which I highly recommend) you could easily send a much larger (and better quality) version. Actually, if it's possible to send it as a keynote press, up to say a couple of hundred meg, that would be better as I could still use some of the animations and builds.

Jon

That pdf is awful - ignore it. There should be over a hundred jpegs in there - one for each main slide. I'll send on a lower-res keynote first thing in the morning.
