2021 Upcoming Events

How are you guys?

Are there any upcoming events to look forward to this 2021? This year has canceled many events due to COVID-19, but I have a feeling next year will be better.

Do you already have plans for next year? Or what upcoming events are you looking forward to?

Hey there! I don't have any concrete plans yet, but I do intend to enjoy every bit of the upcoming days. If you ask me, I'm down for any event that would make me feel normal, like the days before the social distancing and all. If the restrictions go on, I'm afraid a lot of people will start to lose their minds - referring to myself How Social Distancing Strains Our Mental Health – Melissa's Blog Don't you think this pandemic will cause more health issues than the virus itself. I mean, the recovery rate is high, but when you get depressed over it, how long would the treatment be? Lifetime?

I’m sorry to disappoint but since I made the post things have moved on and a combination of COVID-19 and insurance difficulties means that all races have been cancelled.

Water ski racing currently comes under the auspices of British Water Ski & Wakeboard. The discipline has been suspended.

Limited Ski Racing Calendar

I’m sure that all parties involved have put a lot of hours in behind the scenes but it would appear that ski racing is back on for 2021. Not yet clear whether any other races, regional, national or European will be added later.

31st July and 1st August Hanseatic Ski Race, King’s Lynn

14th and 15th August Hunstanton

18th and 19th September
Saltash

2021 Season

Quote from the Chairman of Racing who has probably put more hours into this than he would care to admit:

“We were resolute in doing all we could to try and ensure racing will take place this year. Obviously COVID has caused so much hardship and problems for many of us but I do think there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
It is hoped that racing will physically happen but, obviously this will depend on any Government guidelines which may be introduced nearer the time. Having said this, we are fairly confident we will have the ‘green’ light to race.
The Calendar is much reduced due to the restrictions placed upon us all but, hopefully, we will see many more competitors join in.”

I guess, nothing to look forward for this year. However, I hope next year would be different. I'm in hope that vaccines will be availed by most.
