You had better ask RMYC about the race at Poole.
The BPRC's crystal ball can only see one year ahead I'm afraid.
The races at Torquay are possibly taking place on the Saturday, prior to the C-T & T-C Races on the Sunday.

Work in progress

The Cowes 2013 web site is now up. >> cowes2013.co.uk

Many more details will be added over the course of the next 7 months as per usual!

In other news, this could be interesting >> Raceboat International

It looks like a very good idea to me!

I like it! I am definitely up for that. Just hope the old body is. Some good planning required, spares etc, with all 3 races being so close together. But I think that format is better when it comes to attracting entries.
What a week!
Just got back from California with a bad cold/flu so I can't do anything for myself right now(wife laughs), but I'm glad the races are not tomorrow.

Good stuff John, will this mean if the Championship gets the go ahead, the powerboats will be based back at Cowes Marina?

No.

On the North Island - Southampton is our venue of choice.

The Cowes Yacht Haven have totally priced us out of the market.

Thank goodness the Royal Yacht Squadron have so kindly helped us for 2013.

We are having on-going talks with the Mayor of Cowes and the local council..........

Latest Update Cowes 2013

We looked at the possibility of running a Marathon race before the Sunday Cowes Torquay Cowes this year - Sadly the £ budget did not work.

I have to thank all involved for their time on this idea.

Sally Windsor is now working on our Advance Programme which will be posted on here and our Event site >> cowes2013.co.uk before the end of the week.

Congratulations to Cathy Vercoe for her achievements in the The 2012 UIM Photo Competition.

Cowes 2013

After speaking to potential entrants -

I think Cowes this year will have more entrants than 2011 & 2012.

Thanks for your support!

In terms of the RYA Marathon Powerboat Racing License I could not quite get to grips with this point;

2. RYA Powerboat Race Training must be completed - Full details of this can be found in RYA Powerboat Race training manual PB3 and on the RYA website.

I could not find this on the RYA website, can someone explain what it is and how it can be achieved?

PB3 is currently being updated. Unfortunately the "old" 2012 version has been removed from the RYA website. Contact te RYA Powerboat Office and they may be able to email a copy... Or wait until the new one is published.

Any problems, pm me as I may have a copy somewhere on my pc. Bear in mind though that it will be 2012 edition.

Nicola Drummond [nicola.drummond@rya.org.uk]

Race training will be with Neil Holmes in Southampton, living in Norway couldn't you get a Norwegian licence?

Did wonder that too.

Cowes is an UIM International race, so of course no problem with holding a Norwegian licence.
