Good find!

Duncan Grant etc... I could go on..

Sadly Dad and Penpromo from this forum didn't make the start, so we decided to lunch unwisely in London! I also think that was the day that Italy won the '82 World Cup?

However the following year my dad and Penpromo set things more than right.

British Pathe Pc68

Your`e certainly digging em up Mr.Ciao.Some useless information on the 1968 Pathe film of the Putney -Calais.There is a shot of Vertigo coming under Putney Bridge at the finish. The same shot is in colour in the Boatmad Library as taken by this ol lag who must have been alongside the Pathe News cameraman at the time.Suck air in at that, cocker!
Are you going public on your other finds in Pathe News, there are some real gems there albeit short clips.1966 Putney-Calais,1969 Wills Int and even all the old circuit races prewar if you type in `Outboard Racing` in `search`,inc 1937 Paris 6hrs.
Those b&w clips of the wills films are taken from the colour version of the full films I am trying to source, and hence your contact Mr.Fuller I keep `e` mailing you for.

Pathe News Clip

Taking a still from from the CT68 film of Seabird Stilletto, this was the boat that eventually sank near Yarmouth, the french owner being so fed up with it ,decided to give it away there and then.I notice it was designed by Harry Schoell who has been credited with designing all Aronow`s boats. Most odd.

Pathe News Clip 2

Another still from CT68.An OPII 28FT powered by a Sudoimport 77hp.

By todays reckoning would that be class M15 or M32.

Controversal?

I have enjoyed my London-Calais-London powerboat race 1980 and 1981 videos very much. Videovision made some very fine videos of these marathon races and other races on the british calendar in the early 80s. It is a pity that those videos on the old VHS format is not available on more modern DVD format also saved on that format!
