Almost ready

Most of the cosmetic work done. Both engines run and go up and down.

With any luck, might get it wet Monday!

BTW, the nice gentleman working on the sailboat next to us informed me that the state of Virgina refunds fuel tax for boats. Both petrol and diesel. He even got a copy of the reclaim form for me. Seems we get back 18 cents a gallon at the end of the year.

So far so good Chaos. It was a hell of alot of boat for the money. It seems to be in better condition than one would expect for a boat of its age. I also know that a new powerhead was installed on one engine about five years ago and the other rebuilt about three years ago when a new lower unit was also installed. New fuel tank went in a few years ago also. Boat hasn't been used for two years so I guess we can subtract two years usage from the above numbers. Was also nice to see when I checked the gear lube in the lower units today that it looked like it was put in yesterday. I had been told that the boat was properly winterised and serviced before it had been put into storage and seems to be true.

The origin of the hull so far as I know is that is was designed by Jean Claude Simon who also did the Cobra and Coyote raceboat hulls. Its original incarnation was as a Bill Farmer Excalibur. Reggie Fountain and Gary Garbrecht then as I understand leased/bought the hull, added a notched transom and pad keel (ala Steve Stepp) and called it the Executioner 10 Meter. 'Top Banana' I'm certain knows more about this than I do and his comments would be welcome.

Chris Craft built the boat as a traditional offshore powerboat and as a centre console like mine.

I reckon the boat on its best day might do 60 but more realistically mid 50's the way it's currently rigged - 22 Rakers and relatively low engine height.
