Any ideas what this is?
Have recently inherited this hull with a rather shabby 40hp Suzuki. In process of fixing it up and preparing it as a fishing boat for me and a couple of mates. It’s 16ft in length.
Would love to know the make and approx year of the hull.......any ideas?
Cheers

What boat
Definitely a Morbas. My dad had one at Allhallows .The one in the pick has got its cabin top removed , it is a cabin cruiser but you could remove the top with about 50 bolts. It was a double skinned hull filled with foam , they say virtually unsinkable. My brother won the club ski racing championship behind it with a 70 Chrysler on it .

Check this munter out
Nick x 2
Thank you both for your info. Having cleaned it up a bit and pretty much happy with my project, I’m well chuffed to hear from you guys that it’s a decent hull with a pedigree. Loads of stuff on the net and YouTube to check out now.
For your amusement, please check out the ‘cabin’ that was on it when I swallowed my pride and towed it home. Needless to say, it came off quick-smart

Please tell me more. I know every club ski racing champion at Allhallows for the last 50 years, from me (Avenger 16, 100 merc) to Jake Frame, current European F2 champ. (Bernico, 300 merc). Woluld love to know who your dad is. No Morbas has ever won anything at Allhallows.

Re ski racing
It was club championships back in the day . My brother won the championship he was only a kid and they were run on some sort of handicapped basis .Mitchell Smart(you taught him to ski mono in Yantlett creek) my dad Brian Smart was driving the boat a Red Morebas with a big old Chrysler outboard .I think at the time you had a beautiful blue fletcher and your father was commodore . This was a long time before Barry Frame had even been to the club.

Morebas
PS he used to race against you and because of the handicapped way they used to do it ie engine size age etc he used to beat you even though you you did come first. Will find some old pics of the boat.
