Here are some model images of the ski pole, should help to explain how they are fixed prior to Rob taking some pics.

The Horizontial Tube has M10 nuts welded inside of the end plates for fixing through the vertical stringers in the boat.

Ski Pole Mitre Detail

The Ski Pole is removable.
This shows the detail of how the Vertical is joined to the horizontial tube.

The complete assembly is then mirror polished prior to fitting.

Powdercoated

I talked him into having it done.

If you leave them with the standard clear anodised finish they will oxidise in no time.

Cost around £30 to have them done.
Be sure to bead blast first if not new.

Burty is also having a foot throttle slide plate fitted tomorrow this will allow for people of differnet heights to drive with minimal fuss.

These are designed to fit most foot throttles.

After building a Bernico for 40K I sure wasn't going to position the foot throttle somewhere that I couldn't reach it.
Thats why I designed my own slide plate.

As for your boat.......yeh don't suppose there would be much chance of reaching it where it would be positioned for you.

If its powder coated/anodised, its a quick process. Look in your local yellow pages. Cheap to.

its a sprayed on powder rather than a liquid and then baked in an oven, its alot more robust than normal paint

Powdercoating

Speak to Dan on this forum he will be able to give you the details of someone in Plymouth who can help you out.

Be sure to get a good colour match tho.

I had to buy the powder myself to match the anodised red.

Does the term "splashing" only apply to boats?
