Canopy design!

Very time consuming looking through Grahams library - so much to see and so many old memories!

Did like this one - Translucent when fitted with a 'canopy'. Remember the boat just as my father knew the owner.

Wow ! I remember Translucent with that Dog House (Sorry - Canopy). It was fitted for the London/Monte-Carlo Race in 1972 I think.
I knew Alan Betteridge, in fact I bought my second car from him - he had a car sales in Bedford Place, Southampton.
He raced in the Cowes/Torquay races right from 1961 or 2 until the late 1970's, in Alphabet 1, Alphabet 2 (Senior Marine 26 - Bedford Deiselsx2), & then Translucent - Senior Marine 32 with 2 x Ford diesels firstly 150's, then 175's, then 180's. I think he was part of the Ford Team in the London/Monte Carlo, along with Lady Aitken (Senior Marine 32) & I think Peter & Jane Hicks in a Faiirey Marine aft cabin boat specially built for the race, called Spirit of Michelhouse ( A school in South Africa I Think, they sponsored the school thro' the race somehow).
Any more boring old facts I can dredge up ???????????
Martin.
