I will happily give members discount on most things but as far as the cowls go the price you see if the price you pay. TBH they are worth alot more with the quality workmanship and materials that go into them!!!

I knew I should of explained before u had that Cider!
Its a new plate altogether! I wanted the cut out to be backed up with anodized red ally if thats possible or is not just back it up with something in the post box red range of colours.

ALSO! My soddin' block doesnt have all the right fittings for my top pin!
Where the back bracket goes there is a brass fitting with a pipe fitted to it that leads to the bottom right hand side of the engine block. ARSE!

Rob, You just need to unscrew that fitting and then put the bracket underneath it. thats how the older style cowls were with the top pins

It wont fit under that. the fitting is massive! Got to be over 20mm in diameter!

Rob,
double check the size of the threaded area and I can always do another with a bigger hole!!
Your plates all drawn, just brought a memopry stick so I'll post a pic later.
Cheers

Failing that just use the outer alien shape part. If its ever breaks I'll let you have another FOC (I'm very confident that you wont break it!!!)

The problem with the fitting is it doesnt screw all the way down so it wouldnt keep it down. I will have to see if it can be drilled and threaded then have a shorter back bracket made. I have bought some cowl bungies just incase.

Even with the one bracket and the clamps front and back - prolatch (I guess) it wont come of - trust me!
If it does I will cover the cost of a new cowling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Rob,
All joking aside mate, with the pro-latch (and I only stand by that if you use pro-latch) you will not lose your cowling!

Back in the day, when I used to venture near OB's, another good way to stop your cowling getting destroyed as it moves port & st/bd with the twisting of the baseplate/lower tray, was to fit rubber bump stops strategically atop the powerhead on either side, that just kiss the inner of the cowl near the top. this stopped it waging about and the powerhead trying to break outt'a the cowl, which used to be a very common problem.

FWIW, I think the top stay bracket will fatigue and crack if the 2nd part is not used. S/S is a fkkr for fatigue when it gets flexed.
