Well have just got in after about 6 straight hours in the garage,
bottom half is all primed ready to be sprayed tomorrow,
will flatten filler and put a mist coat on the top half tomorrow, then fill and flatten any remaining bits before a proper coat of primer!
Target time is 4.30 for priming!

Heard spraying with 2-pak then polishing left a good surface to then wax,
how do you do yours?

2-packing a plug is fairly common practice, at least with small sub assemblies.

When I made the plug & mould for the engine hatch on 'Maelstrom', I did it that way, as it was the quickest and easiest way to get the finish, with particular respect to the non-slip surface.

Incidentally, that mould was only made to produce one hatch for myself, as TD already had a different way of doing them on his production boats. But he thought the 'one off' looked ok, so that mould has been used since 1998 for all the Extreme engine hatches on his boats...It nearly went in the skip after I used it for the 'Maelstrom' hatch! ...Mind you, lucky it didn't, otherwise I'd have had trouble replacing the one that went AWOL on Windermere!

Well I didn't make my target
got bottom half finished though, waiting with Dad now to be sprayed,
Will have top finished by Thursday definitely!
Got everything except resin!
Will be pulling my first seat during next week (half term) and then lay up second so with any luck will have a pair at the upholsterers 2 weeks from now!
Doing this pair as a GCSE Resistant Materials Project and for Dad's boat...

Well I finally got to lay up my first seat today after months of prep work and getting all the materials etc together.....
All seemed to go ok but will relax once it's out and I know whether I built a seat or just strengthened the mould!
will post pics tomorrow night as am at dads now and left my camera at home.
