Cowes 2007

OK, I have loads of pics from the weekend, which I will process in due course. For now though, I have a few special pics which I reckon are worthy of a wee caption competition.

Many thanks to Debbs and Rory for sorting some passes for TD & Chaos, and to Sally & Barry at 'The Duke' for our excellent accomodation. Also Ben at the Haven for sorting our berthing for the weekend away from the safety fleet, who as we know, are a bunch of numpties.

Pics 1 through 4::::

A few more:

Pics of the non racing type.

1) Graham F in his new Ring 25 with builder Mike on board. Also hitching a ride is one the UK's most notorious & shameless splashers!

2) Grahams 25 at rest. you could land a helli in that cockpit....ferkin hooooge!!

3) Max's P18 in the wet pits, sadly a motor problem robbed Max of a full circumnavigation of the island. A real shame, as he really busted a gut to get to the start line. better luck next time Max.

4) There's no substitute for maintainance! ....nice rust too.

5) TD's new wheels, parked outside the Cowes Co-Op!

6) Foolish & Wishful doing their duty.

7) Three men (boys really) in a boat.

8) Reggie explains the finer points of style, elegance & taste to his audience of racers & engineers in the pits (I think Mark Pascoe studied at the same school of taste).

9) Ex Tony Toll 35' Cigarette Mistress 'Adnania' spotted in the Solent on Sunday looking very cool.

10) Tony T rolls into Cowes on Friday aboard his new ride, Apache 41.

Great Picture Jon! I spotted you out there too, my wife and I viewed the racing from Egypt Point! It was one of the best years of boats and sounds I have seen! it took me back to the sounds of the 70s, Its got its strength back after a slow era in the late 90s.

The sound of a lambo engine was missing, it was like standing on the bank of santa pod dag strip!

I am surprized Lucas oil didnt get speed penaltys as it built up speed during the race.

Racing shots

I'm not terribly pleased with the shots I got over the weekend of the P1 racing. The distances the spectator boats are kept from the racing line these days, coupled with the very still conditions, left quite an exhaust smog on the water after just a few laps. This led to my pics being taken through a couple of hundred yards of this soup.

Here's a few of the better shots, but nowt to shout about.
