Sunday saw the 53rd running of the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes Classic - arguably the most famous powerboat race in the world. The race was run in near perfect conditions - the water had an almost mirror like surface. This ensured that the first leg down to Torquay was completed in record time. The race started from Cowes at 9am, and the first boat completed the journey and arrived at Haldon Pier, Torquay in just over an hour.
It was a closely contested battle with Going Lean (Dean Gibbs, Dave Brown) taking the flag from Silverline (Drew Langdon, Ali Langdon) and Smokin Aces (Chris Dodge, Nick Dodge).
The second leg back to Cowes started at 2pm and the excellent conditions continued. Again, a close battle at the front, with Going Lean taking the chequered flag from, from Smokin Aces and Silverline.
