A little wider now at 7'6" - still narrow enough to be a good rough water boat!

I think that looks fabulous. will there be scaled tank testing etc? or is the hull a proven design?

We have run the hull shape in model form with a totally different deck shape with fantastic results, and are hopeful we can achieve the same by scaling it up - the model was a decent size, so we will have to wait and see!

Back to the Honeymoon!

Just to update this thread a little - here are a couple of images of where we are at right now - I have sent drawings off for windscreen quotes, it will be the same screen for the 3/4 cockpit and open versions.

We also have a choice of power between the Yanmar 3 litre 260hp and the slightly more powerful and bigger cc Steyr 3.2 litre 280hp, both with Arneson ASD 6 drives.

There is an opportunity to join the team - see this thread http://www.boatmad.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13829

It will still be a racer cruiser with a V berth, small chemical heads/bucket and a small galley with a sink and cooker for making tea - all removable for racing of course! See the layout below.

Looks very nice, what is the grey box over the drives for, also wondered what speed you think she will be capable off.

The boat is definitely a looker.

The grey box is where the liferaft will go - top speed depends on power and drives, we are using Arnesons throughout - with the Yanmar 3 litre 260 we are hoping for low 70's and a bit more with the Steyr 3.2 litre motors that give 280hp - We have had an enquiry for one with 525 petrols and that will be running into triple figures!

Very happy with the look now, just need to alter the air intake and make the exhausts like they were in the early drawings.

Johnny & Co. Do we have any beginings on the workshop floor yet?

Thinking of taking a trip down / into the badlands to say hello and take a look.

Not yet - still fiddling with a few details - the exhaust pipes have gone on the diesel and the air intakes have been changed, got another project on the go as well which you will be interested in!

You would be welcome any time - got a 19 in the mould at the moment!

Cookee dont forget the ASD6 has the gearbox in the standoff box so by the looks of the drawings you could move the engins back or possibly room for a staggered setup. Juat a thought.

The ones we intend to use just have drop boxes - we will be using the boxes on the engines for forward and reverse.

How about this for RB12 if built right.

Looks great but probably a class or two above where I'm aiming! I understand the issue with any North American built boat is the build for British waters and racing (as I assume that is what you meant by built right!), extendible wings sound like something to wrong - and I love gadgets! Although a couple of petrol boats went round Britain last year - a twin 525 and a pair of 496's I think that diesel is the way to go as pretty much every other competitor agreed with it seems - so it would have to be built for those as well.

One of those with a pair of 1200's on number sixes would make a fantastic Poker Run boat though!
