Interestling, going max overbore on a bulldog makes it a 572 - well, interesting to me, anyway.

oh, 4 3/8". so is it 4-3/8 x 4-1/4 (4.375 x 4.25)?

I think a 454 is 4.25" bore, and the 502 is 4.47" (from memory)

Just found this: http://www.roadsters.com/bbc/#bore

which says a 572 is indeed 4.5 x 4.5

Looks like my 482EFI is 4.25 x 4.25

And a 454 is 4.25 bore. (by 4" stroke)

I was close, the stock 502 is 4.468, not 4.470. but what's 2 thou between friends.

I aint arguing with that. What I am saying is max overbore on a bulldog=572.

Look 2 down and 1 to the left on yer chart.

I feel I should add I have no intention of reboring it though unless absolutely necessary. It's good to know there's a fair bit of spare meat in the cyls though.

tis a large webpage, with loads of complex charts, you'll need to be more precise.

You any good at navigating?

from what I can make out, a 496 is 4.00 x 4.440

4.375 x 4.25 gives you a 496

2 down and 1 to the left of the 572 you were looking at gives you another 572, which is what the bulldog "could" overbore too, and is the spec of the GM 572
I'm great at navigating, you any good at following instructions?

No.

have you answered yet, what is the B & S of the bulldog? (not a educated guess, the actual spec, as a GM 496 is not 4.375 S, it's 4.00)

And, is the 4.56 the limit on the GM wall thickness? I'm assuming the Bulldog tall deck motor is the GM bow-tie jobbie, mebbe it could go more. the 4.625 bore gives a piddly 588ci!
