Boatmad Gallery

OK, the well overdue reopening of the Boatmad Gallery / media section is finally happening.

The new location is www.boatmad.com/gallery We will be attempting to update the many existing links within the boatmad forum to the current media gallery once everything is working.

Some of the data is already up, and my connection is currently red hot with the continuing upload.

Grahams Library will be back up 'as was', with more to come.

All (or at least most) of the videos are currently being re-encoded to FLV format (Macromedia Flash) which should make them more generally viewable, and hopefully better quality, that part will take some time, but all the Graham Stevens stills library should be up in a day or so.

Littlenige's gallery will also be re-uploaded.

Remember the gallery search engine (text box top left) is your friend when looking for specific boats..

It would be helpfull if anyone who experiences trouble viewing videos could let me know (there's only one on the site right now, but more to follow very shortly)

cheers

JF

I would be the one that posted the link to the films. It's my first time posting here. Keep up the great work. I would rather watch an old grainy film of "OFFSHORE" racing than an HD Blu-Ray 1 billion pixel per inch video of roundy round racing if flat water.

Now that I've praised all of you from the other side of the pond, who do I see about getting my old boats into your galleries?

Moi.

Are we talking a race boat for the Offshore gallery, or pleasure boat for readers rides? (or both)

Let's start with the race boat. These are from 1985. I was the driver. We won the Pro Stock World Championships that year.

OK, well those are great shots, but tiny picture size.

If you email me a bunch at decent resolution (ie, greater than 1000 pixel wide) and some info, I'll get em in the gallery.

Maybe, but one of them is well overdue to be 'put down'.

I think I now have all the available Cowes videos up. they can be seen here:

Cowes events from 1961 on

And many other historic vids here:

More historic vids

Many more to come, including all the GS class I, II and III home footage, the RB84 stuff, etc.. it's quite slow encoding & getting it on to the server, but I'm getting there.

You don't need to login to the gallery, no usernames exist there. It's effectively a separate site to the forum.
