Not 100% sure Ben, was thinking somewhere between 1989-92, will have to post more pics to get a clearer picture

The first race for the Paul Picot boat was Gurnesey 1990, Gioffredi & Panatta could not get the boat set correct so Steve (Curtis) set up the hydraulic tiebar for them before the race and said dont change it, They won the race !!

Peter, I remember you lot finishing that boat off and testing at Hamble point while I was working on Dicks US1-46 in your shed there. (deff 1990)
Paul Picot looked gorgeous then, but it seemed to get messed with and converted to diesel didn't it in the following years? all looked a bit scruffy and sad compared to it's initial Lambo setup when leaving Cougar.
Also remember watching it race in Guernsey that year, very cool.
Happy days.

Well Nige I would like to post again, however these 150 photos I dug out don't appear to be going anywhere, as every time I resize them, it either doesn't fit the 1024x1000 or its to small grrr remember in Faulty towers where John cleese beat the car with a big stick for non compliance ...
Well I feel like taking the computer out in to the garden giving it a last warning, about resizing and if still no compliance then beating it with a big bush ... if nothing else I'll feel better

Are you using the basic 'Paint' application to re-size? Just about every pc has it. If you right click on an image then select 'Edit', it will then open up the pic in 'Paint'. You then use the re-size option and apply in percentages. A matter of trial and error, depending on the original size of the pic. If you are scanning pics on a flatbed scanner what size dpi (dots per square inch) are you using? 200 would probably do it. PM me if you need help.

Hi Nige, yes I did do the first in paint and somehow still managed to get it wrong, then I swapped to Microsoft picture management and it ended up even worse, so I've redone the above image in paint for a trial ...

the boat on the far side was my second favourite boat after the Cougar Paul Picot, which at the time I thought the perfect way to go with it's single fighter canopy down the middle and big rear fin

Not sure if this is the boat JF raced at one time, and a 3 pointer which I always thought was revolutionary, but having raced the smaller class 3 one to this back in the mid 80's, very scary is all I can say

1st pic the giant mono Benotto which if memory serves ran 2x800hp Isotta Fraschini diesel engines, may make a good marathon boat if still knocking around, 2nd pic was a similar boat or the same boat that rolled over in Poole bay killing the crew, 3rd pic as I pointed out earlier one of my favourite cats Annabella powered again by 2x800hp Isotta Fraschini diesel engines,

That Benotto hull I think is in Corbelli's boatyard doing nothing. Wasn't it a tri-pointer?? You are right about the second pic. The ill-fated Diridoni hull. Annabella was was great looking boat indeed!

1st pic Bagutta a fast boat in its day, gave Paul Picot a run for its money, believe it had Lambo engines, 2nd pic Clarke group Cougar cat with very unreliable Lambo engines, so re-manufactured by John Clarke and still unreliable, so this is a rare as hens teeth pic of them still racing on around the 3rd/4th lap, if I recall it didn't do to bad on the day speed wise, but was still way down on the lead cats. For me I personaly felt it was a great pity this boat never performed for John Clarke and the many offshore fans that watched back then, as it was a British boat racing on the British Scene, and he certainly spent some money trying, who knows perhaps if this boat had given him a great time and some glory instead of massive grief and expense the racing bug may still be with him today racing in Marathon, 3rd pic mitsubishi again running Isotta Fraschini diesel engines

1st pic cant recall much about this cat with large rear fin, 2nd pic the ill fated Pinot Di Pinot a Buzzi cat running again Isotta Fraschini diesel engines in what I believe was the last ever race before the tragic roll over in Monaco that killed Stefano Casiraghi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefano_Casiraghi

1st pic Crossley an aluminium 3c boat at the start of the race (hang on lads), built and designed on the Isle Of Wight I believe, there were a few racing back then and they conquered 3c quite well in the rough, rummer had it one was turned into a rib after its racing career ended,
2nd pic another 3c boat a Cougar cat, 3rd pic a 30' cruiser class Flying Flipper, this one Shytalk No 69 appears to be inboard engined so not sure if it can be the same one that had outboards on for the RB08
