Just found this Apache Miami to Bimini Race Video on Youtube

I dont know if this one has been shown on here yet.

These conditions slowed the Apache 69 team up for once! well a little slower! the helicoper seems to be going well.

The US are always questioning which is the best rough water boat and 8/10 times they mostly say Apache, although I recon the Euro CUV would give it a run for the money and then there is the Buzzi boats claiming many records that just may be top dog ... what you recon???

IMHO, The Buzzi's 55', be it 'La Gran Argentina' style, or the 55rib would wipe the floor with the Apache in the rough (proper rough).

Just watch the Buzzi vid, where were all the awsome rough water Cigs & Apaches etc, when Buzzi was 7 hours in the lead from Miami to New York??......7 HOURS!! The US had that spanking on their own doorstep with the best US hulls & engines available and that was only a Buzzi 40.

It really makes me laugh that that particular edit of that video, with the old, then new Apache, was one I put together from a tape Mike Lloyd gave me. the point where the two clips are joined and the squiggly bit where he says 'There's nobody else out here folks', are the give-away that it's the edit I did. it's hosted on the gallery server here, and seems to have been nicked & re-hosted by loads of people on youtube etc, which I find very odd, as that has reduced the quality. They could have just used a link to the version on here. Weird.

I agree having read over the years of Buzzi wiping away the competition it would seem he rains supreme in the rough and it's even more apparent when JF types it in black and white ... kind of puts it into prospective ... Buzzi numeral uno ... think I said that years ago on a USA forum but no response I wonder why

I can remember the sea's in the 70s Cowes Torquay being very rough and some of the Alloy CUV's coming back with bend & dented hulls! thinking sh!t it is really rough out there! how did they get that back, also remember the commentator saying the boats are having a bad time in torbay.

And a mention of the Americans that didnt like coming over to the CTC race because of the hard conditions. Those 2 Videos are the only rough sea's ive seen an American in and an apache in.

I witnessed Jaguar the legend spin out in the mouth of cowes harbour to then continue!

The trouble with the CTC in the 70's 80's Our Poxy TV companys were never interested in real hardcore sports! They just about managed Rallycross.

Is the Apache Warparh the only successful famed Apache boat?

I've done that a few times on the US forums...the 'Instant Silence' is defening.
