I'm not scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would imagine Steve Baker would have been horrified to see the amount of holes in your dash, especially the one that were made with a hatchet! (he probably wouldn't care now that he's retired)

The dash, IMHO plays a very important part in maintaining the rigidity of the boat, and removing vast lumps of it can't be good.

I'm assuming that you used the old holes when you re-fitted everything, or did you cut even more away!

The pic is how it is now. i added a few holes to the mess that was there before for my trim indicator etc. We have strengthened it with a metal plate and tie bar down to the floor though.

We did this two years ago on Bad Boy, plate over the top AFTER filling holes left by various gauges. When we got the boat it was rigged as a twin, so more holes on the dash and transom than a swiss cheese!!!!

Well im with TD on this one.

The dash panel does the same on a boat as the scuttle panel does on a car.

Basically it is a structural panel that provides rigidity and holds everything together.

I would certainly ensure that it is adequately reinforced, especially in light of how the boat is being used and abused.

It is dudes I got a rose jointed tie bar running from the dash down to the floor. Still waiting for a response from a certain person.
