Lamborghini powered Rib
I remember seeing this on the front cover of a magazine but no longer have it. Who's got the pics?? It was yellow/white and maybe based in Scandinavia somewhere.

have an article on that in Rib international, I will see if I can find the article, seem to recall it had a few tests and ran up to around 114mph think they were hoping to do 120+ but recall in the article problems with the rear tubes deflating, after that I seem to remember reading the engine was installed in something else and a new cat/rib would be built but since then all has gone silent and that was years back

Hi, I can get you an old copy of RIB over the weekend if you want. It was a cover boat on a really early issue. It was also on display at RIBEX back when it was at Weymouth. Matts (the owner) and dad ran it up at the show, achieving something around 117ish mph if I remember rightly.
I know there have been some changes to the boat in recent years. I will dig out the info for you. PM your address and I will send you the issue.
Regards
Tom

Maybe I am missing something here .... but can anyone explain why a perfectly good boat should have an inflatable collar around it ???
Surely , it has not been designed around the rule book to make it comply to the letter if not the spirit ?
Absolutely Outrageous !!!
Mike

I believe that the boat might be something Egil Ranveig designed, Mr. Hydrolift:

I believe this is the boat, the article is in norwegian, he is fitting an engine with 1450hp...:

I don't really see why it needs the tubes?
Are they to help when mooring?

I think Mats started the whole project to promote his line of Ribs. And btw it was for sure a lot easier to break the Rib world speed record.

I think the un-tubed version looks better. I think this one had a 1350 hp gas turbine.

Larby's boat is moored beautifully on a custom pontoon in his vinery
I remember that RIB as I did a piece on it for my GCSE art, 12 years ago now!
