Limit Up 78 & YellowDrama III

Got round to scan these old Pictures of Limit Up 78 & YellowDrama III
I must of been around 9 10 years old 1978 79. It looks to me that Yellow Drama won the CTC

Good shot of the Big old girl out of the water at the start, I think it was the lap before heading out to Torquay.

Theres another classic racer that was turned into a pleasure craft in red behind the Cat.
Also a classic Chrysler motor that most speed boats had, including my fathers Boffins Coffin, the pictures were taken on board Boffins Coffin.

Nice boat! I thought it raced, i had flashbacks of it racing at one time early in my youth at 5/6 years old!

Just shows how these beautiful craft put an impression on you for the rest of your life.

I'd love to see more pictures of Boffins Coffin. I have only ever seen one B&W photo of it racing towards France and the one on here!

It ended up been painted many time during the time my father owned it! Heres one of them around 77 78. How didnt water up the top of Hamble river! there used to be so many skiers there. The other picture is it being launched down from the Jolly sailor.

Fantastic Pictures of BC, You know all this time has gone by not knowing some thing the history of it. I knew it was something special when we would get caught out in force 7 to 9 condition and it just cut throw the waves like a knife. Even as a kid i knew i was safe in that boat.
After my father purchased it with the hole it was repaired very professional by my father and his engineers with me doing alot of rubbing down too and then up untill he sold her around 1990 it gave us all a such a great time and moments.

The worst thing was that my stupid father sold it with out us knowing.

If anyone else has anymore pictures i'd love to see them.

PS Great Ass shot. Looks like a nappy Lol

Wow! Thats great too! thats a great photo of it and its the same kind of picture i new of when my father purchased it. his photo is probably trashed on it was taken side on this one is at a great angle showing the number 12 as i remember it as.
How very sad not knowing of its where abouts now. This goes out to my father he sold it with my motorcross bike i had purchased for myself so not to damage my trials bike doing trails for the weekend. so he owes me for that too. just had a flashback of a price he sold for £1100. He didnt need the money.

the CTC. I guess the solent race was like the Diamond circuit of today! Do you know what damaged the boat?

BC demise

All I can glean is that it opened up aft, which tends to suggest structural failure. From the pic it looks like it`s had an exocet hit.Horeseman was probably driving it like his levi ,which could slice through the conditions better than the fairly dated Glastron, with presumably more horsepower than it`s been used to on the back.

Yes, Its sat here under the scanner.

You can call me Steve, the Shelby part is used because of other Mustang forums i go on. I can remember that boat sounding nice, did it have Ford V8's 5/6 or 7 litre?
