Littlehampton ORDA Race

Thats a pity Cliff.
The old Littlehampton races combined with the Regatta were good, with plenty of boats, not just racing, but the decorated pirate boats, etc., for the regatta too.
Anyway, despite the Council's indifference, & the lack of entries, well done to ORDA for persevering & putting on the event.
Our friend in Sweden seems to suggest that they get plenty of entries there, why is our scene so thin ?
The same "World Wide Recession" must affect them too, but clearly not so badly !

Talk to Barrie Williams and look at the French setup - not sure if it would work over here but it makes sense to me - just have to persuade EVERYBODY to go for it - that's the hard bit!

Went over to one of the French races a few years ago and really impressed with the set-up and general "togetherness"

Really makes our racing look so fragmented. We actually have enough boats / crews - but far too many classes and different clubs / organisers.

The racing in France was so straight forward - one series, one promoter / organser!

As I said the hard bit is getting everyone to agree!

I remember Tony Hamilton cruising round in one of those - incredible noise from a small boat!

He brought it on a Poker Run, had it moored stern to a yacht at the Haslar light ship, fired it up whilst the waffi's were having breakfast. Haven't laughed so much in years.
