Whilst we're on the subject of waterjet cutting and dans laser jobbie:

The loudest noise ever produced by man is 210 decibels by NASA in 1965 from a test bed with 48 foot thick Steel and Concrete walls and 60 foot deep foundations. The audible range was calculated at 100miles. It was so loud holes could bore holes in solid materials and I'm not talking about cheese.

What I meant to say was 'It was so loud holes could be bored in solid materials.'

Not sure how I managed to feck that up so badly.

DAN I would like to see you cut through 200mm of 316 with a laser ! As for crap edges check this out : a bike 50mm across cut from 3mm glass- like to see a laser do that as well !

Yeh, that is very good. Horses for courses I guess, and you are quite right we couldnt cut through 200mm st st. Having said that I generally find that cutting with nitrogen does give you cleaner edges on stainless. Again, horses for courses.
