I've seen an arrowbeau 17foot met the same motor as yours! If you have msn? I could send you some pics etc... He claims that his boat reach 120-125km/u. He has a cleaver prop on it and setback... If you want more information let me know...

Hey,

The original transom was not strong enough(anymore), thats what he says. So he made it a bit stronger with 50kilo's steel His boat slips very hard at this speeds. It's a stock 200merc he turns a bit more than 6000rpm at wot. But i don't know the pitch of his cleaver... Here a few pics...

Ah , yes! I remember! He was the guy with that steel-construction. Isnt he the guy in the Fletcher-driver-database? I was sure the boat was sold , or is still for sale.

He told me that it was running 113 at GPS at 6000 RPMs , and if he wants to go more , the boat is chinewalking.
He mounted a Chopper-Prop and i dont remember the pitch!

I think a 24" is realistic

greetings
Andi

Hey I have also a Fletcher 160 GTO Bravo, but no engine yet

Djb, your boat look a much like my boat, but Bigboy was fast to correct you, from 17 foot to 16.

DjB, do you know how the weight of your engine, the boat is can only take 150 Hp according to Fletcher. An in 1989 a merc 150 was about 180 kg. One of my friends have a Fletcher 160 with 200 merc, I think that he have a 23 prop on it an top speed is 120 km/t. He told me that, he have to not give full gas or it will fly out of the water.

Djb, have nay pictures where your are sailing ???? I would like to see how it looks on the water

You have to remember to not get over your engine max Rmp, or it can damage your engine.

Hi!

It is not possible to do 120 kmH with an 23" Prop

If he is around 6000 RPM and his gear ratio is 1.87 , he can go to 112 kmH without slip!!!

With a 24" it is 117!!

So slip will be 6 - 10 % that will reduce your top speed!

He has to kick his engine to 6400 RPMs to do the 120 kmh!!

And with 8% of slip he hast to kick his engine to 7000 RPM to reach 120 !

greetings!
Andi

not to many Rpm

Hey Andi

Maybe you are right, I will try to confirm it this summer.

But you have to look out for to many Rpms or your engine will be damage.

A 200 hp merc from 1990’s should have a max Rmp at 5500.
