Look in the background at the rather small number of spectators
The shoreline is very long and I think the spectators got dispersed.

Also many people were in the Valleta port to see the boats going out and coming in.

Another factor was that the weather was not so nice, and non enthusiats may had not attended and spent their Sunday afternoon elsewhere.

Both Crusader and Trailer (Now sporting Boatmad stickers on both sides) are still high on bricks in the garage, to save my indespension rubber suspensions.

Still have exams and right now I am studying for my finals starting 4th June. I then have to follow the Basic seamanship course which is now compulsory In Malta if you have a boat with more than 75hp.

Therefore I estimate that I will be able to cruise freely at about august or september.

My new engine has 9 (nine) hours on it. I gave it it's first service before it's winterizing. Last summer it floated four times, in which the cusader ran sideways as it always did, even with the old engine.

I hope to be able to use it more this summer.

In need of cruising company, pals don't really like boating.

Anyone intertested.......????

Crusader see if Mike Kitcher at Buzzard Marine still has the moulds for the Crusader hull extensions (trim tabs built in grp) - they will sort out your problem.

Hi there!!!

You ok?

I am not really bothered with the sideways cruising problem, I do not drive very fast, and only down the throttle on flat water.

I have spoken to Mike Kitcher once, he was the builder of my boat and actually recognised it because it's colour scheme was a special order.

Yep, Yam 85hp. Unbelievably to other racers, in the rough we ran the standard aluminium prop!!! It gave an incredibly good ride, and amongst other things allowed us to beat 3c and even 3d boats in the very rough!
Web Site, I know the photographer (Chris Moss) dont think he will be too bothered about copyright! He is too busy running 118118!

Sorry if it's been answered before, but can someone please tell me the purpose of the little wings on the bow? I guess it's something to do with lift or stability??? Is it for when the boat is airborne, or if it stuffs or just for normal running? Ta.

They are there to dig the bow out when it stuffs. They dont stop it but help in the recovery.
