Miss Nova Arts

Hi
Can anybody help me......I am looking for any pics of a stapley cat called Nova Arts that was driven by Roger Kennedy. My dad was a co-driver in 1976 and after seeing some of the great pics posted on this forum which have brought back a lot of childhood memories I thought somebody might remember this boat.

Have got a picture somewhere from a Stapley advert with it. Will try to search it out!

That would be the 3D / 4 litre boat?

Think there was also briefly a 3C boat (also Stapley) running by the same name

It was actually 1975 that my dad was a co-driver for Miss Nova......I think it was a very successful boat that season and won the London/Calais/London amongst others.
Prior to that in 74 my dad raced a 19' Stapley monohull called Sundowner, any info on this would also be much appreciated

Putney / Calais

Was that the Putney/Calais where the Nav. had to hold the busted motor together and steer with his feet? Was that your dad?

Just to show what fashion was like back then for powerboat racers - from the same advert!

Infact - not that different from today for some racers!

Yes. In fact I think I've seen you wearing the very same pair jeans as you wore in that shot!

I thought the 1975 Putney-Calais-Putney, 4 litre was won by Steve Baker and his father, in a 23 with a pair of 'tower of Power' Mercs!

65mph average over 253 miles.

more info from the excellent David Sewell yearbook.

Think so - with brother Ron next to him.

Otherwise don't recognise too many - bit before my time. Ray Stapley has the near handle bar moustache, think it is Roger Button is there and Nigel Powell (?)
