I`m not sure about the top deck lines infront of the drivers and nav area tbh, never been sure (in terms of looks) the way it has like kinda seperate consoles for each side (imvho). Apart from that very nice.

I'm undecided whether its my kinda styling, but agree with TD's sentiment. Also, that deck looks a loverly moulding & the boats have a decent finnish.
whoever builds them must have had a good teacher

I quite like it. A tad radical an different, refreshing. How the style holds up with time is difficult to say could date quite quickly where clean simple lines though dull are longer lasting.
Not sure on individual pods side by side, When that big "green" one comes rolling up the deck does it tend to funnel between pods into the cockpit?

New Cyclone
New Cyclone
I will be placing an order for a new boat towards the end of this year, the Cyclone as pictured will certainly be considered.
I think with the right gel coat pattern and maybe the rub rail removed it will be lovely.
Not sure how Martin would feel about removing the rub rail tho!!!
I have not tried the new Cyclone hull as yet and before placing an order for any new hull I will be testing first, I have heard that they require some setting up to achieve a good top end speed.
Gav hows this new decked 21 coming along? is this going to be a possiblity?
I will also be considering a Benico again 21 of corse, altho this may be out of my price range now
Any other suggestions........must be 21ft max for use with ski racing.
Cheers
Cye

We maybe developing a new sportsboat next winter - depending upon which projects we go with!
Anyway she would be approx 6.3M and I'm sure would make a great ski race boat. If it does all go ahead we will of course be designing it and then developing through to plug, moulds and prototype before passing over the production elsewhere.
The hull is already designed and much of the plug work is done for another project.
Needs a few other things to slot into place before happening and also depends on whether I race (offshore) next year as well!

MMmmmnn! I believe there's a most reliable Laminator on the Island, who I'm sure would love to look after your moulds for you!
He also has a reputation for "designing (CAD), developing through to plug, and especially in producing moulds.
I would advise though, that he may insist on adding a good sized 'hook' into your design (port side only, of course), so as to improve it's foul weather sea keeping.

New Hull
Adam I would certainly be interested in your design tho I am looking to place an order this coming winter so that i will have a new hull ready for use early next season.
I also want to keep this new boat for more than a year this time!!!
It would be a shame to buy a new hull this year then have to change it next year for possibly better technology.

Cyclone
Cye, the hull for the new style 21 is the same with only the freeboard raised a couple of inches. You are quite right they do require a LOT of time to set them up correct, mine is no where near its potential, however enough for all F2 skiers i have pulled. I have discussed the merits of our boats with Rod and we agree that its the quality of the skiers ride that is improved as opposed to our previous Phantoms. They are a superb boat, and you are welcome to try mine Cye, Martin is refining the product continually and the new shape will appeal to some and the old shape will have its following also.

I like the look of it, represents thinking out of the box, I hate it when everything looks the same, like Jap cars. Not sure I would have gone for that colour combo, the black underside looks like abit antifoul!

Test Ride
Bazza thanks for the offer of a test drive.
May take you up on that at Weston.
I agree with your comments about quick enough for F2 there is hardly anyone that will out ski one.
I am definately considering one but will compare the ride quality to the Bernico which in my opinion is the best I have driven or riden in (limited experience I know)
The problem with the Bernico is getting one on time and the price, somewhat different to the Cyclone.
I think this time before buying I will calculate all costs of different options before deciding, unlike when I bought the Bernico and had no idea what the final cost would be. (40k)
I would also build my own trailer this time and not just design it and pay someone else to build. (2k just for metal work untreated) 5k total
