No Need for Heavy duty Transom as only aloud a 200hp ,a couple with 250hp but not easy to hide, unless heavy duty built due to the abuse they got .
Any old pics before it was painted ?

Thought you might be interested in a couple more pictures of your P25 I seem to have acquired over the years.
As I recall it was for sale around 4-5 years ago fitted with a 175HP Yamaha.

Hi ,no not mine ,never owned a P25 , that`s why i was asking for a few pics before it was repainted incase i reconised it , it could have been a 200hp with a 175 cowl ,200hp not a problem to have down ere anyway , or it could have been a 225hp with a 175 cowl, 225hp not aloud down ere until they sust out the auto choke on them and when pretend chokes were added on they then checked on the top carb serial number which would give u the HP , then 200hp carbs were placed with the 225 jets on it .

Nice, was going to build a cat in that colour earlier in the year, got the pigment, but test panels didnt work out well so decided against it.
Love the colour

Yeah, test panels came out great, no streaks at all sprayed and backed in black gel. Problem was doing any patch work, mainly where the bow and transom seams are. Couldn't get any consistancy in the join. Presure, pigment content, overlaps, way too many variables to make an invisible seam.
Ad that to the fact it didn't sand and polish too well, too many ways to hang yourself so gave it a wide berth!
Would have looked well cool though!

The sanding/polishing was on the list of things to test. Thanks for the heads up.

Id still love to try it though. The problem was any inconsistancy in the spray pattern at all leaves visable distortions on the moulded face.
If you build up too quickly and blow the gel it streaks. Any large pieces in the spray left rings.
Maybe a few ghost coats with a similarly coloured back up gel would be the way to do it. Its a huge gamble with a boat, might try some cowls first and see how they work out.
For patching I was thinking something like the way metalic paint is done. Do the back up colour and metalic patch buried in clear. So sanding and polishing doesnt touch the metalic gel at all. But if the metalic isnt reasonably flat under the clear, it will look shit.
Reminds me of doing the flake repairs on my Hydrostream, which were a major pain in the ass!
But if you really want metalic, Id say paint will give you the best results.

I've seen your P25 for sale on Kapaza... seemed like a good boat and good value for it's asking price. Nice paintjob btw, curious how it 'll look when finished.
I don't know if the Yam 350 would be the right engine choice, but the colours would surely match Are you sure about that Yam 350 engine weight ? Should be around 370kg in stead of 450kg ??? If you're looking for the same horsepower with less weight I'd prefer a tuned 300XS weighing around 240kg... or a tuned 2.5 like driver510.

I would agree with Toffy that i am not sure that a 350 v8 would be a good choice for a p25 as they only come in 25-30 inch shafts.
Having that much weight high up could compromise the handling of the boat.
If you wanted a yamaha i would concider one of the new 300 v6 offshore's as they only weigh 255kg.
Just my opinion.

P25 engine
If you are going for 1 engine I would go for a 300xs the 2.5 runs fine on mine but it is tuned I am running around 72-74 mph.I think a 300xs will run 75+mph and if you tuned it I think 80mph possible

I'v sprayed metallic gel a bit over the years rubbing down repairing is had if not impossibable it's very hard to get right but when you do the results are fantastic you could spray a water clear gel on first use it like a lacquer on paint then spray the metallic on top that could work
