P25 vs P28

Hi!

Nice boats. Ofcourse, they are Phantoms!

I have a Phantom 25 too equipped with twin Merc 2.5 EFI SS engines.

I would be very happy if you could let me know a few things with your setup:

- what kind of props (I run Hydromotive QIV-X-O/B 25 and Chopper 26's)
- spinning in our out (I am spinning out)
- propshaftheight (approx 1,2 inches below)
- setback if any (2 inches, built into the midsection)
- centerline to centerline (19 inches senterline senterline)

Have you got a pic of the view from straight to the back of the transom from say 6 foot back just to get an idea how much space either side of the engines there is for tabs ?

thats not what tabs are for Taz,
there there to keep the bow down in the chop, though they do allow lower planning speed,
Ask Burty, the would push the bow of his p20 right down,
Or look in the vid of warlord, you can see when it gets abit of air, the tabs are either down in the chop or up in the nice stuff,
just a alternative to a bowtank

They can also be used to make the boat run more level if its leaning to 1 side from prop torque

I wouldn't say that. A bow tank completely changes the CofG, and how easily the bow is deflected upwards when hitting steep lumps in the sea. Tabs won't stop that. And they only have any effect when they're touching da wasser.

A trolley jack?

Listing from prop torque, maybe. but if you're running in a beam wind (into which the boat WILL lean) tabs make easy work of leveling things up. especialy if you've got a long way to go on that heading. 20, 40, 60 miles is a long way to go fighting to keep your boat level, when a dab on a trim tab button will sort it.

tabs would make you abit slower, but then again so would having an extra 100 kgs of water to push along,
also when your gona need to use them, im sure the small handycap of using them(the extra surface area of the tab slowing you down) would easily be overwhelmed by the improovement in the handling and ability to keep the boat going in the right direction,


anyway...we wanted to put tabs in because weve got a nice set of brand new heavy duty ones (14x28" long!) and we want to keep the space up the front for a cabin
