I think I know the boat as well. Nice one... And with a pair of EFIs very fast (110mph+ with the two EFIs).
I think a perfect engine for the P23 would be the 300 Merc Optimax with a nice chiptuning (around 350hp). This engine should take the boat to 85-90mph...

Do you have experience of these chips? What is the cost and I assume it hurts the fuel economy!

Unfortunately, I have no experience with these chips as I don't own a 300 Merc Optimax. But I know a guy from Germany working for Mercury (Merc Racing) who can do the upgrade of the 300 Optimax. I will ask him about the costs and the fuel economy.

No, I never said that these pics show any rough conditions. I only wrote that the boat is perfect for rough conditions. The boat loves big waves, but unfortunately, there are not many to find on the river Rhine. But sometimes (with the help of several big ships).......
