Mike and I used that one for the CE tests, prior to me buying the moulds from him. I've got a 22 that Mike moulded for me, it's a hull & deck, bonded together with rubrail and some structures fitted.

Still needs some work to finish, bulkheads & floor mainly. It's a white hull & deck with black screen!

£12.5k ish, depending on spec! That would buy you a fully fitted boat with upholstery, fuel tank and deck fittings, ready to accept your steering and motor!

What sort of performance could you expect with a single 200 2.5 or would it need a twin setup ?

A single 200hp 2.5 merc or similar gives about the same performance as the same motor on a 21' Ring /Phantom or something similar, but with an incredibly soft ride!

To do the boat justice it really needs something a bit sportier like a Promax or a 2.5efi!

Nice thought! but I think you'd need a bit more than 200hp for that. A 300PM would suit it!

As I said earlier, about the same as a Phantom/Ring 21, so probably not!

The Ringcat in Christchurch does 60MPH with a standard 250HP Yamaha, which I belive has some set back. So I would think you would need a really modded motor, maybe roofers, to get anywhere near 80mph. That or a Ranger Rover Sport and towbar.

It'll have a bracket of some sorts, coz it doesn't have a well. 60 is slower than it should be going, but the motor is not really the right one for the boat, seem to remember it being an xl.

When we ce'd them, Mike had the use of one with a 200hp merc on it with a Paralift, can't recall the max speed, but it left my 21 for dead, and that was in some real sloppy water. My 21 would run 63mph, and I recall looking over at the cat thinking what a smooth ride they were having, whilst I spent most of the time in the air!

It's what persuaded me to buy the rights to it!

I'm not saying you're wrong on this occasion nobby, but it 'always' looks like the 'other' guy is getting a softer ride, remember when we were racing.

I couldn't agree more, but in this case I actually got to have a go in "the other" boat, and remember looking at my 21 running alongside us and thinking, "those poor sods are gonna hurt in the morning"!
