Only 'paid up' OSO members will be able to see them.

Now I know I shouldn`t waste my time commenting on posts like No3,and spare us the `tongue in cheek`routine, but these pics whether good, bad or indifferent should be encouraged, not slagged. At least the similar thread on Offshore Only has attracted some worthwhile response.

Just in case anybody doesn't have OSO membership and cannot see them, here they are. For folks like me they are a great trip down memory lane.

Nor did I. I'm kind of wondering also about the 38' bertram (plain white) and the boat next to that - anybody know? Mike?

Toleman took the Cougar and the Bertram to Australia. He elected to run the Cat but broke down early doors. I suspect that white Bertram is Toleman's.

Aussy Boats

O19 is a Force OP II hull driven by T.Low.

That Bertram 38 seems a mystery with it being all white.Unless it`s got a cover over it.Toleman did take his mono over there.

Toleman took both the Bertram and the Cougar to Melbourne in 1980, electing to run the Cougar.

Tony Low is a stalwart of the sport in Australia, having started racing in the mid 70s. The boat pictured was one he built himself, based on a stretched 28 Magnum, and which debuted in the Worlds race. It was powered by triple Mercs and just didn't have the top end speed. Tony's other boat at the time was the ex Whiplash, a very quick Mercruiser powered Cigarette 28, and it's a bit puzzling why he didn't run that.

Tony is still involved in the sport, running ( but not driving) an ex Victory hull in Australia.
